Conference Cultural Offerings

At our last Faces of English conference, participants had a great time and really enjoyed all of the cultural activities that we had to offer. We want to ensure that you walk away from Faces of English 2 with just as much satisfaction so we’re planning an array of exciting and enlightening cultural activities.

The conference will open with one of the most world-renowned Chinese traditions: lion dancing. Contemporary dance performed by HKU’s very own students will also be a part of the opening festivities. For participants attending the reception at the HKU museum and art gallery, there will be entertaining theatre and acapella choir performances by some of Hong Kong’s up and coming young talent.

We understand how difficult it is to really witness the local scene of any city with so little time. During tea and coffee breaks, participants will have the opportunity to feel immersed in Hong Kong culture and architecture by viewing the many pictures taken through the photographic lens of a colleague who’s lived in Hong Kong’s hustle and bustle for nearly two decades. We also want participants to walk away with a nice souvenir to remind them of their time at the conference; there will be a roaming frame and photographer to take your picture!

Finally, to send everyone off on a high note, the conference will close with a wonderful guitar performance by one of our HKU student alumnus.
