Welcome to the Innovations in Language Education Conference

It is with great enthusiasm that I and the Organising Committee welcome you to the Innovations in Language Education: Advancing Practice, Pedagogy and Research conference organised by the Centre for Applied English Studies (CAES) at The University of Hong Kong (HKU) in collaboration with the Association of Hong Kong Language Centres (AHKLC) on June 2–3, 2026. This year's gathering promises to be an inspiring and enriching experience for all participants, as we come together to explore the dynamic landscape of language education.

As we navigate the complexities of our globalized world, the need for innovative approaches in language teaching and learning has never been more crucial. This conference aims to provide a platform for educators, researchers, and practitioners to share their insights, experiences and innovative practices that are shaping the future of language education in a lively, stimulating, and productive atmosphere.

During the conference, you will have the opportunity to engage with leading experts, participate in thought-provoking discussions, and discover new approaches that can enhance our pedagogical practices. From inspiring sessions delivered by a distinguished line-up of keynote speakers to a diverse range of interactive sessions and vibrant networking events, every aspect of our programme is thoughtfully crafted to foster collaboration and ignite new ideas.

I encourage you to save the dates and prepare to take full advantage of this opportunity to network, share your own experiences, and learn from one another. Together, we can create impactful experiences and drive forward the advancements in language education that will benefit our students and communities.

Join us for what promises to be a transformative experience. Let’s embark on this journey of innovations in language education together!

Warm regards
