Born in Hong Kong, Melanie immigrated to Canada at a young age. After graduating from the University of Toronto, she completed a master’s degree in International Hospitality Management in Switzerland and returned to Hong Kong, where she worked in the aviation and hospitality industries for more than four years. Since then, Melanie has earned the Trinity CertTESOL and a master’s degree in Applied Linguistics from The University of Hong Kong. She has taught English to tertiary students at City University of Hong Kong and at the School of Continuing and Professional Studies, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She has been with The University of Hong Kong (HKU) for over ten years.
