Born in Belgium, Wim moved to Hong Kong in 2009 to start his career in English teaching, starting out at language centres before moving into tertiary education. He has since obtained his BA in English Language Studies where he graduated with first class honours before completing his MA in Applied Linguistics at The University of Hong Kong. Wim has been teaching English proficiency courses as well as content courses at various local universities before joining CAES. Wim thoroughly enjoys constructing interactive classes and engaging with his students and hopes to continue his research in the field of assessment in the near future.
Wim’s current duties at CAES include the teaching of English in the Discipline courses, though most of his time is invested in the Communication-intensive Courses (CiC) initiative where he coordinates the Visual and Digital Resources (VADR) team. He is also involved in the badging of CiC courses and design of Micro Courses.
