Siqi’s current research interest is about the academic literacies of multilingual students at EMI higher education. Her research investigates the lived writing journeys of multilingual students, exploring how they cross divergent writing practices and leverage their unique meaning-making resources. Being a passionate qualitative researcher, she enjoys talking and listening to people, learning about different stories and perspectives.

Before becoming a PhD student at CAES, Siqi worked in the field of language education as an English lecturer in a university in Mainland China and as a Chinese Mandarin teacher in US K-12 schools. She also worked as a research scholar and EAP professional in a university in the United States, exploring the academic writing experience of Chinese international students at US university. She now serves as a writing consultant at the university writing center, where she helps students across academic disciplines to succeed in various kinds of writing. Beyond applied linguistics, she is a proud feminist advocating for female agency.
