About CAES Scholarship
CAES is a Centre where innovation and resources are devoted to improving English language learning and teaching. Our main aim is to develop and foster a scholarly-informed teaching culture that is beneficial to our staff in terms of personal development, to our students and our partners. Scholarly activities in CAES should generate different forms of dissemination, engagement, innovation, and impact on our services and on local and academic communities. CAES embraces the teacher-scholar model as a dynamic, expansive and inclusive model of what it means to be a scholar. The teacher-scholar uses his/her expertise as an educator to develop powerful pedagogies, to enhance opportunities for learning within and between learners and to engage in reflective practice. Our approach values scholarship which informs and evaluates effective learning, teaching and assessment.
