The Centre for Applied English Studies is committed to invest resources in partnering with students and developing students as ‘colleagues’ in scholarship of teaching and learning as well as enhancement of communication literacies.

Empowerment

Partnership allows space for shared power, and through such relationship students and staff bring different expertise to the collaboration.

The diversity of learning spaces provide opportunities for engaging students to the broader community of scholarly education

What is Student as Partners?

Students as Partners (SaP) is a “reciprocal process through which all participants have the opportunity to contribute equally, although not necessarily in the same ways, to curricular or pedagogical conceptualization, decision-making, implementation, investigation, or analysis. (Cook-Sather et al, 2014: 6-7)
