Michael is from the United States and studied history and political science. Previously, he worked for an Office of Inspector General and was a graduate teaching assistant during his MA program. His academic interests include comparative politics, social movements and contentious politics, and transnational migration.

At CAES, Michael works in the Writing Centre and offers workshops on academic writing, research writing, and public speaking to undergraduates and postgraduates. He also supports students with IELTS & GRE test preparation and leads a weekly current affairs discussion group.
