Teaching and Learning Quality Committee

Overview

The Teaching and Learning Quality Committee (TLQC) was established to ensure teaching and learning quality of undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the Centre for Applied English Studies (CAES). The work of the committee is informed by the principle that the setting of teaching and learning quality standards leads to critical self-reflection and improvement of teaching and learning quality across the Centre. Those standards need to be transparent and consistent across the Centre and represent the voices of teaching staff, students of CAES and the university as a whole.
The TLQC’s mission is to set up and monitor mechanisms to:

  • Review the teaching and learning quality of undergraduate and postgraduate courses
  • Disseminate teaching and learning quality information to students, staff of the Centre, the university at large, and the UGC
  • Allow for new bottom-up and top-down initiatives related to teaching and learning quality to be implemented within the Centre
  • Aid collaboration and exchange of good practice amongst teachers
  • Transfer information related to teaching and learning quality to other committees within the Centre such as the Programme Coordinator’s Committee (PCC)
